  据国外媒体报道,近日,美国宇航局太阳动力学观测卫星(SDO)最新观测到太阳表面巨大的类似蛇一般的磁性等离子卷须,它们在太阳表面延伸60万公里。

  这种壮观的太阳暗条(Solar filaments)是非常长的等离子细丝,上升进入太阳超炽热外大气层——日冕。这些太阳暗条比日冕更加寒冷,在太阳盘状结构的背景下呈现出黑色。当沿着太阳的弯曲水平线,太阳暗条则形成令人眼花缭乱的突起。

  如图所示,最新观测到的太阳暗条存在于太阳西南侧,它们最终将喷发形成太阳风暴或者悄然进入太阳表面。太空气候网站的托尼-菲利普斯(Tony Phillips)在11月17日发表文章称,太阳暗条未来将有几种选择:逐渐地缓和返回到太阳表面;猛烈地爆发;或者在恒星表面崩溃。虽然太阳暗条猛烈地爆发并不太可能朝向地球方向,从拍摄镜头来看卷须状炽热等离子将飞入太阳边缘之上的黑色太空环境。

  在最近几个月,太阳已进入11年周期的太阳活动周期。近几周,几处强烈的太阳耀斑从太阳表面喷发。太阳动力学观测卫星和其它几个太空探测器将持续观测太阳,跟踪太阳气候活跃性。
