  科学网(kexue.com)讯 近日,欧洲南方天文台的观测人员使用VISTA望远镜拍下了一组银河系的照片。令人吃惊的是图片的分辨率108200*81500,如此细腻的图片将银河系的细节完美展现在观众面前。近乎90亿像素的图片如果按照原来比例打印出来的话,将是一幅长9米高7米的巨幅图片。这幅巨型照片中至少包含了8400万颗恒星,视角范围是以前相关照片的10倍以上。从前的银河系图片资料仅仅是这幅照片的中央部分。

  天文学家希望借助越来越先进的望远镜设备,进一步突破人类对星系对银河对宇宙的认识。到目前为止,天文学家已经观测到了大约17300万颗星体,其中大约8400万颗已经被证实为恒星。
